Hello everyone,

Hope you are enjoying the winter...or not.  We have been working very hard on our two programs - the May 4 Bostwick Heritage Festival and the August 23 Battle of Bladensburg.  We are in the early stages of needing help for both.

1) We will be putting out a call for volunteers in March or April for the August 23 program.  If you think you might be able to help for the May 4 program, let me know.
2) If you are associated with any re-enactment/living history groups - please drop  me a line and I'll get you squared away.  (The battle is planned and the fireworks prepped. It will be a doozy.)

and finally,
3) We are looking for artists and crafters who might be interested in selling their wares at our programs.  I have about two more spots open for the Bostwick program and we are just starting to look for these folks for the August program.  We are most interested in those that have a "historic" style to their work (pottery for example), but are open to anyone who is interested.  We will be putting out this call through the local arts networks, but wanted to make the call more broadly as well.

Just for a quick bit of information - the May 4 program will have the Piscataway dancers return, we will have 1800s children's games, an animal display, vendors, information tents, a black powder rifle demonstration, sword fighting, as well as food and ice cream.  The program will be at Bostwick (3300 48th Street, Bladensburg) from Noon til 4pm on Sunday May 4.  All of our events are going up on the www.princegeorges1812.org website. We hope to see you there.

Aaron
