Independent Film Series, and including it here in case you are unable to
open it.  

There will be a discussion after the screening, facilitated by Mimi
Machado-Jones of the Creative Edge Studio Collaborative.

 

"Fruitvale Station"

Large Meeting Room 

 

"Fruitvale Station" (2013), 84 min; is a fictionalized account of Oscar
Grant, a 22 year old unarmed man who was shot and killed by a police officer
at an Oakland, California rapid transit station. Director Ryan Coogler tells
the story of the last day of Oscar's life by the people who knew him best.
The film earned 10 awards, including the Sundance Film Festival Audience
Award and Grand Jury Prize.
