Amy & Casey,
There is a Google RP-Parents group. We've met twice and hope to have monthly meet-ups and possibly more. The kids range from 18mths to 6yrs so far.

We had LOVELY experiences with the Greenwood School in Hyattsville (http://www.greenwoodschoolmd.org/). I am forever grateful to Laurie Klinovsky, the director of Greenwood School, for her support for our kids over the years.
When our kids were little, we used local in-home daycare providers who are sadly no longer living in the area.
In addition to the state-run Locate ChildCare service of Maryland Family Network (http://www.marylandfamilynetwork.org/programs-services/locate/). I'd recommend contacting these two groups for more information:
- Prince George’s County Family Child Care Association. www.pgcfcca.com
- Professional Child Care Provider Network of Prince George's County, Inc. http://www.pccpnpgc.com/testimonials.html
Make sure you do your due diligence when you research providers (which you are clearly doing by sending out queries like this one.) This is a great guide to how to find a good place:

As to a local Riverdale Park parent group, Krista Molino had the same thought many years ago, and ended up partnering with a parent in Beltsville (Ann Sterling) to form the PGParents listserv (https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/pgparents/info). That said, Hyattsville has their Hyattsville Nurturing Moms group; I'd love to see something similar for Riverdale Park! (I'm not sure if we can join the Hyattsville Nurturing Moms group, because they say you have to live in the Hyattsville boundaries. But perhaps someone else knows?)

Hi everyone,
My husband and I are expecting our first child and have been in Riverdale Park a little less than a year. We're wondering if anyone has strong opinions about any of the daycare centers nearby or recommendations for in home daycare providers nearby?
Also, is there a parent group for Riverdale Park?
Thanks in advance!
Amy and Casey
