CONSTRUCTION UPDATE NOTICE 

 

Weeks of: June 22, 2015 and June 29, 2015 

What to Expect On-Site the Next Two Weeks: 

During the next two weeks of work, the General Contractor, L.F. Jennings,
will continue construction of the Whole Foods Market and Building #3.
Underground utility work to install storm drains, sewers, and electric
conduits is proceeding in multiple areas on the site. 

Lane Closures: 

WSSC (using A&M Concrete Co.) has commenced work on their replacement water
main project in the Route 1 right-of-way. This work is not associated with
the Riverdale Park Station project. Work began on 6/15/15 installing the new
storm drain outfall pipe from the site to Wells Run. This installation will
move into Route 1 on 6/22/15 and take 3-4 weeks to complete. Pepco will be
installing a new pole on the west side of Rt.1. Pepco forces are currently
installing underground electric conduits across Route 1 to provide power to
the site. 

Future Plans: 

. Two week to two month look-ahead - o Continue all of the above work but
start an additional building to provide new retail to the area. 

o Utility installation work. 

o Start construction of the Whole Foods Market parking lot. 

o Start construction of the pond at the northeast corner of the site. 

o Start utility relocation for the construction of the CSX Crossing. 

 

. Two to six month look-ahead - o Start additional retail buildings. 

o Start installation of a traffic signal at Van Buren St. & Rt.1. 

 

. Six to twelve month look-ahead - o Start interior fit-out of Whole Foods. 

o Finish widening of Route 1. 

o Opening of Gateway Park. 

 

 

Work Hours: 

Work activity will be taking place Monday - Sunday between the hours of 7
a.m. and 7 p.m. However, work on the State highway will be restricted to
9:00am to 3:00pm.
