Baker, III announced the appointment of  K. Alexander Wallace, a resident of
Upper Marlboro, MD to the Board of Education representing

Wallace will fill the vacancy which resulted from the recent resignation of
former School Board Member Lyn Mundey.  With this appointment, Wallace will
serve out the remainder of Ms. Mundey's term, which will expire in 2016.  

According to Maryland House of Delegates Bill 1107, the education reform law
for Prince George's County, the County Executive is required to appoint a
member to the Board of Education whenever a vacancy occurs.  County
Executive Baker conducted an open search to fill this vacancy which provided

BIO OF K. ALEXANDER WALLACE: 

Alexander Wallace, a graduate of Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr. High School, has
focused on public service, advocacy and education policy throughout his
professional career.  Wallace has worked and volunteered with several
different non-profits, governmental agencies, community leaders, and elected
officials such as The Education Trust in Washington, D.C., the Maryland
Higher Education Commission, University System of Maryland and the Maryland
Youth Advisory Council. Mr. Wallace was an inaugural member of the Wayne K.
Curry Leadership Institute. Mr. Wallace graduated from Towson University
with a degree in Political Science and Communication Studies. He is
currently pursuing a  Master of Public Administration degree with a Public
Policy concentration at the University of Baltimore.
