LARGO, MD – Celebrate National Adopt-A-Dog Month by finding your new BFF (best friend forever) at the Animal Services Facility in Upper Marlboro. Throughout the month of October, your Department of the Environment (DoE) Animal Management Division (AMD) is reducing adoption fees to $125 (normally $225) for anyone who adopts a dog from the Prince George’s County Animal Services Facility.
“We are encouraging anyone thinking about welcoming a new dog into their heart and home to not shop at a store, but to adopt. The County’s Animal Services Facility should be the first go-to choice when looking for a new pet. There are dogs of every size and breed available for adoption at the Facility, and our helpful staff supports you every step of the way—from finding the best dog for your family and lifestyle to scheduling a spay or neuter surgery—all paws are on deck to help you through the pre- and post-pet adoption process,” says Rodney Taylor, Associate Director of AMD.
Missy and Buster, two dogs from the Facility were recently featured on <http://links.govdelivery.com:80/track?type=click&enid=ZWFzPTEmbWFpbGluZ2lkPTIwMTUxMDAxLjQ5NzQxNTgxJm1lc3NhZ2VpZD1NREItUFJELUJVTC0yMDE1MTAwMS40OTc0MTU4MSZkYXRhYmFzZWlkPTEwMDEmc2VyaWFsPTE3NDU0MTM4JmVtYWlsaWQ9dG93bkByaXZlcmRhbGVwYXJrbWQuZ292JnVzZXJpZD10b3duQHJpdmVyZGFsZXBhcmttZC5nb3YmZmw9JmV4dHJhPU11bHRpdmFyaWF0ZUlkPSYmJg==&&&100&&&http://www.wusa9.com/videos/life/2812134984001/4523638171001/> Petline 9, a special segment on WUSA’s Great Day Washington showcasing adoptable pets from around the Washington, D.C. region. Kathy Mock, a shelter volunteer, accompanied the mom and son Beagle-mix breed dogs on the show, noting that the pets are spayed and neutered, and would love to be adopted into a “forever home” with teenagers and adults.
