Neighbors,

As you might have heard, the planning board meeting to consider the
proposed 7-11 at the southeast corner of Route 1 and Sheridan St has been
"continued" until September 10. The proposed development does not meet
local development requirements and would create a 24-7 convenience store in
the midst of a residential neighborhood in Ward 1 of Riverdale Park.

The town council has already weighed in three times to oppose this
development, yet the lawyers for 7-11 continue to try and force this
development through. There is a very simple way, however, to raise your
voice against this proposal.

Those who wish to weigh in on the proposal can register online as a "person
of record" in order to submit a letter expressing your views. Dozens of
local residents have already taken this step, but we're eager to have more
people do so in advance of the Sept 10 hearing.

In order to help facilitate the process of signing up as a person of record
and submitting a letter to the planning board, I'll be at Town Center
Market tomorrow (Thursday) from 4pm until about 7pm to help folks sign up
and write a letter. This option is also available to those who have already
submitted a letter. Additionally, if you're not able to stop by tomorrow
but want to sign up online, simply register here and follow the directions
for submitting your letter:

Look for me on the patio on Thursday!
