[RP TownTalk] Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of April 23-24

Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of
April 23-24. 

Weekend highlights include:

cid:image001.png at 01D0D9DC.A27BCFC0GREEN LINE: Buses replace trains at
Greenbelt Station only
     Saturday opening until closing Sunday

Throughout the weekend, Green Line service will operate at regular weekend
intervals between College Park and Branch Ave stations. On Saturday and
Sunday, no trains will run between College Park & Greenbelt to allow for
pedestrian bridge replacement and construction of a new test track to accept
Metro's new fleet of 7000-series railcars. Free shuttle buses will run
between College Park and Greenbelt.

Station closed: Greenbelt

Wiehle-Reston East & Ballston-MU only at regular weekend intervals
12:01 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday

Throughout the weekend, Silver Line trains will operate at regular weekend
intervals between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston-MU only. Customers
traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains
to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line
trains on the same side of the platform.

12:01 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday

Single tracking between Van Ness-UDC and Dupont Circle to allow for rail,
fastener and insulator renewal.

& BLUE LINES: Trains every 20 minutes
12:01 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday

Single tracking between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory to allow for grout
pad rehabilitation, joint elimination, rail, fastener and insulator renewal.

between Huntington & Mt Vernon Sq only
12:01 a.m. Saturday until closing Sunday

All trains will operate to/from Mt. Vernon Sq rather than Fort Totten.
Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Sq should use a
Green Line train to complete their trip.
