PGCPS Community Meetings: Understanding the FY2017 Educational Facilities
Master Plan

Prince George?s County Public Schools (PGCPS) invites students, families,
and community members to attend one of three community meetings to learn
more about the FY2017 Educational Facilities Master Plan (EFMP). The EFMP is
used to develop the annual and six-year Capital Improvement Plans (CIP). The
April 27 Northern Planning Area meeting will include information on new
middle school construction.

The PGCPS Department of Capital Programs will host the meetings.
Representatives will review the school-by-school schedule for renovating and
replacing more than 133 schools; constructing new schools; reorganizing
sixth grade to middle schools; boundary changes; and planning studies to
consider consolidations and other programs. The Prince George?s County Board
of Education is scheduled to vote on the FY2017 EFMP on May 12.

Interpreting services for Spanish-speaking families will be provided at the
Northwestern and Oxon Hill meetings.

Reuniones comunitarias de las PGCPS: Explicaci?n del plan maestro de las
instalaciones educativas para el a?o fiscal 2017

Las Escuelas P?blicas del Condado de Prince George (PGCPS) invitan a
estudiantes, familias, y miembros de la comunidad a asistir a una de tres
reuniones comunitarias para aprender m?s sobre el Plan Maestro de las
Instalaciones Educativas para el A?o Fiscal 2017 [EFMP por sus siglas en

I just drove up and down Ravenswood.  Going up, a child came out from
between cars on a tricycle/or some such wheeled thing.  Of course when I
see children I slow down to about 2mph.  So, I am asking that the parents
of these children in the 4700 block of Ravenswood Rd, please supervise
their children and please keep them out of the road.  If an emergency
vehicle came down, or a car going the speedlimit doesn't see them we could
have a tradgedy.  When I drove back down after I did my errands, they were
all playing In the road.  I blew my horn and told them to get out of the
road, but they just ignored me.

This happened to me this evening too. Same block. I had to stop and wait
for a few minutes while they decided to get out of the way of my car.
Basically, they just wheeled around my stopped car.

It scared me and my son because it was in an area where there were cars
parked on both sides of the road, and only one car could pass through, and
I couldn't see the kids when they were next to my car (they were short, and
some of them were riding scooters that you sit down in). So when I started
moving again, I had no idea if I was going to hurt someone.

Thing is, I wish there was somewhere kids could play together without fear
of getting hurt. They were having fun. Maybe on a side street (like 48th)
where there isn't as much traffic?
