[RP TownTalk] Help for Tuckerman Street Residents Displaced by Recent Fire

Riverdale Park residents:  Many of you are aware of the devastating fire
that occurred in Town on Tuckerman Street, Saturday, July 30, 2016. Thank
goodness nobody was hurt.  However, a family has lost their home and
everything in it.   As a town, we are so fortunate that so many of our
residents have already reached out and expressed a desire to help this
family in their time of need.  

 

The family is currently staying in a hotel in Greenbelt and will be
re-located this week to an apartment.  They will reside there for the next 8
plus months while their home undergoes major repairs, which their insurance
company has already started.  

 

The Town was able to speak with the family to obtain a few specifics with
how the community can assist. They need new or gently used household items
as well as clothing.  In addition, gift cards (Walmart, Target and Giant)
are encouraged as donations. This will enable the family to purchase what
they really need.
