Upper Marlboro, MD– The Arc Prince George’s County will hold its 17th
Annual Bowling Bash Fundraiser on March 6 at AMF College Park Lanes to
benefit The Sarah Petit Fund, which supports recreational opportunities for
individuals with developmental disabilities.

This year, Bash supporters can choose from two different event times to
participate. Event 1 is from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and Event 2 is from 12:30
pm to 3:30 pm.

“The Bowling Bash is a firm fixture in our fundraising calendar, one that
our supporters, center participants, staff and friends look forward to
every year,” says Rob Malone, The Arc Prince George’s County Executive
Director. “We would like to thank our major sponsors, Hays Insurance and
ALCO Pharmacy, who made this event possible and encourage county
residents to lend their support and make a difference in the lives of those
with special needs.”

The fundraising effort, which supports The Sarah Petit Fund, assists The
Arc's Day Center Community Links Initiative to ensure meaningful and
joy-inspiring recreational opportunities for The Arc’s participants. A
statement from the Petit family sums up the spirit and importance of this
event:

“Sarah’s life was full of activities with her friends – dancing, sharing
meals, painting, cooking, music, and games. She brought joy to all those
around her and inspired others to live their lives to the fullest. What
better way to commemorate this young woman who was full of enthusiasm and
love for others than to continue doing the things she loved…playing,
laughing and enjoying the company of others.”

The Sarah Petit Fund relies on donations from individuals and businesses
that believe in The Arc’s mission. To register, donate or sponsor, visit
www.thearcpgc.org.

The Arc Prince George’s County is Maryland’s 2nd largest Arc chapter and is
committed to the welfare of people with developmental disabilities and
their families. The Arc of Prince George's County is one of over 700 Arc
chapters nationwide. A membership organization, The Arc has 600 members
including people with developmental disabilities, their families and
friends, the professionals who work with them, and other concerned citizens.
