The Riverdale Road bridge was one of thirty items I brought up during the public safety walk last November. Since then staff has be in contact with Senator Pinsky's office. At the District 22 Dinner last January I spoke with Ian, an aide to Senator Pinsky, about the bridge and its condition.
As it is a state bridge, it would be best to address letters to the 22nd District; Delegates Tawanna Gaines, Anne Healey, Alonzo Washington and Senator Paul Pinsky. That being said, you are welcome to make your concerns known to the office of our District 3 county council member, Dannielle Glaros.
How this bridge received a rating of "acceptable" is the folkloric $64 question. Hopefully the bridge will be addressed before the next inspection in three years.
Sincerely,

-David

>> The State of Maryland is responsible for the bridge's superstructure and was inspected 2 years ago (5 year rotation) and is acceptable condition. The paving, walkways, and guards are the responsibility of the county's (according to the state, and that is almost always the case for secondary bridges).

>> The very obvious problems with these surface features are in very real need of repair and we are putting the pressure on to get these fixed but we have been frustrated with county response to date. This is and has been a priority item for Town government.
