Thanks for the clarification.  I did sign the petition and as you suggest, they should be thinking of a design like the monorail in Vegas or Seattle.

I think those homes -- another on the corner of Mustang Drive got flattened this morning -- are making way for the light rail, not the wall. My understanding is the wall is down on Kenilworth Avenue at 410, not upstream next to the B&W parkway. The good news, and it is GOOD NEWS, is that progress is being made and that the line is coming.

But it is time to follow Councilman Lingua's suggestion and  really put the pressure on to change the support structure's design so it is not a wall. Would be much better for all of us if it is designed like the monorail in Las Vegas -- elevated, space-age (think The Jetsons) and foot and motor traffic flow naturally below.

It is my opinion that the ‘wall’ proposed will be horrendously bad for the Kenilworth Corridor.  This opinion is shared by the town’s Urban Planning consultant Paul Mortensen who guided us through the Cafrtiz development.  When thinking about consequences think about E-W Highway decades ago.  It will be akin to that.  Large physical dividers like the EW-Highway bridge that rendered Town Center largely vacant for decades and the wall proposed by the Purple Line will unlikely be a positive outcome for the town.
