Hello, hello!

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and beautiful weather to start your weeks! October always seems to be a busy time & there are never enough weekends to pack in all the leaf peeping, apple picking, pumpkin carving, costume wearing, haunted happenings, and cider drinking that we'd like to enjoy. But, you don't have to go far to find many of these things; your favorite neighborhood house museum has you covered! If you would like to register or if you have any questions, feel free to email me or call the office.

Want to Costume Up?
There are still a limited number of spaces left for this Saturday, October 8th's Costume Ball. If you simply can't wait until Halloween to dress up, join us for this Regency-style ball and dress the part of your favorite portrait . We'll have dance instruction, light refreshments, and live music. Need some inspiration? The NGA has some wonderful portraits to get your started, http://bit.ly/2cYigI1.
Registration required; $25 residents of Prince George's & Montgomery Counties; $32.50 non-residents; more info here - http://www.pgparks.com/page68860.aspx.

Looking for Fall Family Fun?
Join us on October 16 for a Harvest Festival. Sip on warm cider as you enjoy autumn crafts, activities, and demonstrations in the garden and open hearth dependency kitchen (while supplies last)!
$5 adults; $2 students & children; more info here - http://www.pgparks.com/page69281.aspx.

Love Creepy Tales & Spooky Stories?
This year's Gothick Evening: A Curious Collection of Characters on October 29 takes you on a lantern-lit tour of the house while hearing eerie tales inspired by the painting collection. Cap the eve with refreshments around the fire in the open hearth kitchen.
Registration required; $15 residents of Prince George's & Montgomery Counties; $19.50 non-residents; more info here - http://www.pgparks.com/page68861.aspx.

Searching for Seasonal Recipes?
Visit with the Kitchen Guild on October 30 while they demonstrate 19th century recipes featuring Fall Bounty from the garden. Be sure to pick up a copy of the recipes; these demos are always FREE! More info here - http://www.pgparks.com/page69443.aspx.

We hope to see you soon! There are lots of ways to keep up with Riversdale!
