*RPAC Board of Directors Vote to Move ArtsFest 2017 to Saturday, May 6,
2017*



*RIVERDALE PARK, MARYLAND – *The Riverdale Parks Arts Council (RPAC) Board
of Directors unanimously approved, at its October meeting, to move the
ArtsFest 2017 to the first Saturdays of May going forward.



The ArtsFest 2017 will be held Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. in
2017.



“The RPAC Board believes that moving the Artsfest to Saturdays will
maximize community participation. We also believe Saturdays will be a
better fit for potential vendors, authors and artists,” said RPAC President
Samuel Williams, Jr.



Sunday, May 7 will be designated as the rain date.



Submissions for the 2017 Gerald King Art Grant ($1,500 paid to a master
artist to train the recipient for one year plus a $500 stipend that is
given to the winner to buy art supplies) will be accepted until the
deadline date of March 20, 2017. For further details, seehttp://

In addition, RPAC is looking for local artists, artisans, authors, poets,
crafts dealers and general vendors to display/sell their original work or
merchandise at its 10th annual arts and music fair in 2017. For further
