Riverdale Park Station
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE NOTICE

Weeks of: September 26, 2016 thru the week of October 3, 2016

What to Expect On-Site the Next Two Weeks:
The site and buildings General Contractor, L.F. Jennings, will continue site construction in multiple areas. Washington Gas Light (WGL), Verizon, Comcast, WSSC and Pepco will bring utility services to each new building. New road construction east of 46th Street to connect to Maryland Avenue at the SE corner of the site is ongoing. The connection will involve reconstruction of a small section of Maryland Avenue in front of the Pittcon warehouse. The final asphalt topping course and striping of roads and parking areas will be completed before the end of the year on the western half of the site. The park adjacent to Route 1 (Gateway Park) is nearing completion. The first section of the 119 townhome lots has been delivered to the townhome builder so that construction can start this fall. Construction of three new commercial buildings (#1, 2 & 4) is well underway with the structural steel in place. Tenant fitout work in Building #3, for spaces other than Whole Foods Market, has started.

CSX Crossing:
The bridge construction requires the closing of the former ERCO plant parking lot between the Rivertech Court cul-de-sac and Lafayette Avenue. This route has been used for years as a "short cut" from Lafayette Avenue to M-Square. This closure will continue until the new bridge is open - estimated to be in the third quarter of 2017.

The bridge builder, Shirley Construction, will start installation of sediment controls during this period to prepare for the driving of piles and excavation for the bridge foundations, which should start late in October. The pile installation will start in October and continue into early December. Pile driving will generate noise around that area. The construction will be monitored to assure compliance with County work hours and noise regulations.

Whole Foods Market:
Tenant fitout work inside Whole Foods Market started in July. This construction is being managed by Whole Foods Market. They estimate that construction, stocking and employee training will take 9-10 months from the time construction work commences.

Hiker/Biker Trail:
The Hiker/Biker Trail has been deeded to MNCPPC's Department of Parks and Recreation who will manage and maintain the trail. They expect to open the trail for use by the public once they determine that site conditions are suitably safe from dangers associated with the immediately adjacent construction activities.

Work Hours:
Work activity will be taking place Monday - Sunday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. However, work on the State highway (Route 1) will be restricted to 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
