UMD buses are free for Hyattsville residents who buy a pass for a few dollars at City Hall.
Some of us who live on Queensbury do NOT want any more buses on our street; we have dozens all day, every day, many of them empty or near empty.  In Hyattsville, we have Metro buses, The buses, UMD buses, and EYA buses.  Even this 69 year old grandmother can walk pretty much anywhere in town if I so desired.  We do not support this effort.  Actually, we could do with a lot fewer buses on our street, as well as less other traffic.  Saturday afternoon we had fairly solid traffic from Queens Chapel to Route 1 along Queensbury.  Buses damage our streets and add to our air pollution.  I wipe up soot from traffic every day in our home.  With our deteriorating public buildings, the money is needed elsewhere.  Nina Faye

    Hi Neighbors!!
We're writing to ask for your support regarding a more efficient and reliable public and free circulator-connector service throughout our community's major destination. The City of Hyattsville council members optimistic about an upcoming study to review a possible system, and Prince George's County transportation planning team will also start a transportation improvements plan this summer. This is a perfect time to come together and support the collective vision of a more reliable transit network (10 min wait-time/headway) with weeknight and weekend service, and a unique brand/identity that reflects our distinct area. 
Please take a moment to read our article and petition. Our goal is to take our petition to the transportation planning team of Prince George's County this summer, and contribute it to the City of Hyattsville's transit study, to show how much support this idea has. Please note that we do not want to add an additional line to any route, but improve existing routes and work with the county to create a brand that represents our area.
