I see WTOP news bulletins saying Route 1 btw Jefferson and 410 is facing
lane closures today due to a water main leak.  Sounds like a good day to
avoid Route 1.

earlier this morning:

*SB U.S. 1 blocked in Hyattsville*

In Hyattsville, southbound U.S. 1 will be blocked all day between East-West
Highway/Md. 410 and Jefferson Street because of emergency water main
repairs.
