Hi Folks,

Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) Green Line is hosting a workshop on
Having Difficult Conversations about Race, facilitated by LJ Solidarity
Consulting, on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 5:30 - 8:30pm at the
Hyattsville Municipal Building.

Sometimes you know it's going to happen and sometimes it just sneaks up on
you. You're just going about your day and BAM! someone makes a comment or
snide remark and you have the choice to let it go or engage in a difficult
conversation. In this workshop, participants will learn techniques to
navigate those moments and how engage in difficult conversation topics
while remaining assertive, empathetic and calm. Through games, role-playing
and observation, participants will practice these conversation techniques
and develop a personalized communication plan to take with them through
their everyday lives.

$20 tickets for this event can be purchased at the link below. If you are
unable to afford the fee, please email greenlinesurj at gmail.com No one will
be turned away for an inability to pay.
