The Hyattsville Area Residents for Progress (HARP) are organizing a donation
drive to collect items for Comfort Cases for immigrant foster children.

*What is a Comfort Case?*

A Comfort Case is a NEW small duffel bag or backpack holding BRAND NEW
items of necessity and comfort listed below to be delivered to youth
entering foster care (newborns to age 21). Join Comfort Cases in replacing
trash bags traditionally carried as a suitcase by those in foster care.
Children need to know that their community cares about them, and wants them
to have something of their very own. Comfort Cases has launched an
emergency appeal as it works to provide care packages to migrant children
entering the foster care system after crossing our southern border. About
10% of the migrant children will enter the foster care system

*How do I donate?*

Items will be collected through July 22. Donations can be dropped off at the
home of Karen Bianco 4214 Van Buren St., University Park MD

You can also contact Karen (contact info below) to arrange to have itemspicked
up. Donated items will be delivered to Comfort Cases in Rockville and then
distributed to children in need being placed in foster care.

*Items being collected*

Comfort Cases has said that they are in most desperate need of the following
items: backpacks and pajamas (specifically sizes 12, 14, 16,18/20, Adult
XS-2XL for both males and females; also boys pajamas sizes 3 and 5). See
link for a list all of the items accepted for donation.
