Probably depends on the distance from the WSSC street connection to your
house connection. Also if you need significant Re piping in your home, too.
I know it hurts your ears (and wallet) to heat that, but now is the time to
avoid the lead in all your pipes. Might have to delay that Tesla another
year.
You should chat with WSSC, then get estimates from three/four companies,
and it wouldn’t hurt to talk to a few neighbors who’ve done it.
It’s a pain in the neck but you’ll make it worse not doing homework.
Also, ask RPMD’s Kevin Simpson if there are funding programs/county grants
to ease financial trauma.
Also check: any money in old black pipes?
Would be nice if you could retell your story when it’s done.
