Calling all fiber artists in the greater Hyattsville area!

We're looking for artists who work in a wide range of fiber art media, such as weaving, spinning, felting, dyeing, stitching/ sewing, quilting, basketry, knitting/crocheting, soft sculpture and surface design -- and things we haven't thought of yet.

The idea is to build a connection between fiber artists in the Hyattsville area and initiate events to promote appreciation of the fiber arts:

  * First, there's a new private member listserv to connect fiber artists and share news about, for example, upcoming local festivals and exhibits, exhibit opportunities, media coverage, meetings, supplies and materials.
  * Members will help create new events, which may include for example exhibits, workshops, festivals or sales, and talks by recognized fiber artists.

It's still new, so artists will have a chance to help create activities and build this new guild.

Members are not required to have any particular level of expertise - only a desire to learn and share.

Come join us! If you're interested, or know someone who might be, contact Deborah Moore or Tassie Hanna at HyattsvilleFiberArtsGuild at gmail.com<mailto:HyattsvilleFiberArtsGuild at gmail.com>. Let us know if you want to join us and sign up for the listserv.
