 Hi Folks! SURJ GL is partnering with Prince George's African American
Museum and Cultural Center for another educational event focused on the
history of food inequality and the racist systems that perpetuate it in
Prince George's. Chloe Marshal of FJC20743 and the Oakcrest Farmers
Market y'all
have been helping to support in Capital Heights will be presenting and
sharing steps, big and small, folks can take to help! $10 Early Bird
Special runs through Sunday, and we need 12 more folks to register by

series of educational workshops exploring the history and current status of
locally relevant racial justice topics in partnership with the Prince
George's African American Cultural Center!

This event will be a panel discussion with Chloe Marshall of the Food
Justice Coalition 20743 and other local activists involved with food
justice in the DMV area. Panelists will help provide context for
understanding the way that systemic racism has led to food inequities in PG
County and the DMV area. Why do some communities lack access to fresh food
while others have four or five groceries stores? What does it mean to live
in a food desert or a food swamp? Come learn about the current situation in
local communities and the hard work of activists who are bringing fresh
food into their neighborhoods and returning ownership of food systems to
communities of col

Early Bird Tickets are $10 ($15 after 5/13), but no one will be turned away
for lack of funds. Childcare, transportation assistance, and other
accommodations are available upon request. Please contact

All proceeds benefit the speakers and PGAAMCC.
