We have been working on drafting our guiding principles and we need your
help! We want these principles to be informed by our community as a whole
(which means you!). *If you want to contribute, join us at our next meeting

clearly about what the Coalition stands for and the kind of work we will do
moving forward.

*Bringing a Grocery Store to Seat Pleasant*
The City of Seat Pleasant announced earlier this year that a new grocery
store will be coming to Addison Plaza this year, but we have yet to see
such and negative rumors have been going around about the situation. At our
next meeting

we will discuss how we can reach out to the Mayor's office for an official
statement.e. We'll also discuss how we can mobilize to ensure this grocery
store plan moves forward so that residents don't have to travel so far for
a basic need.



*Capitol Heights Farmers Market*
We are collaborating with the Town of Capitol Heights to move the Oakcrest
Farmers Market a little closer to downtown! This partnership will help us
open an even better market next season. If you want to be part of this
project, you can do one or both of the following:

Public school families and others created the United Parents and Students’
Store of Excellence Award, which aims to reward stores selling better and
healthier food.
