Looks like we're entering a new phase - temporary closures have been the
norm for awhile now, according to these official notices from the Purple
Line project.
Today's notice alerts us to long-term closure on Kenilworth, from River Rd
across E-W Highway to Riverdale Rd - this is the right-hand lane,
southbound. See below for more details.

Lane Closure on Kenilworth Avenue

New: On or about March 18, 2019, crews will be closing the right-hand
southbound lane long-term on Kenilworth Avenue between River Road and
Riverdale Road for Purple Line construction. Barriers will be placed to
delineate the work zone. Pedestrians and bicyclists are required to stay
outside of the construction zone at all times. Pedestrians and bicyclists
are not allowed in the construction work zones; this is for your safety as
well as our construction team.
Possible Lane Closures on Kenilworth Avenue

Update: Update: Temporary lane closures will occur over the next two weeks
on an as needed basis on Kenilworth Avenue between River Road and Riverdale
Road for overhead and underground utility relocations between 7 a.m. and 4
p.m.
Possible Lane Closures on River Road

Update: Temporary lane closures will occur on an as needed basis on River
Road between College Park Metro and the Northeast Branch Bridge for tree
cutting between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Possible Lane Closures on Riverdale Road

Update: Temporary lane closures will occur over the next two weeks on an as
needed basis on Riverdale Road between Kenilworth Avenue and Mustang Drive
for utility pole installation between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Possible Lane Closures on Baltimore-Washington Parkway

Update: Temporary lane closures will occur over the next two weeks on an as
needed basis on Baltimore-Washington Parkway near Riverdale Road for
installation of wire walls between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
