  **Community Notice**The purpose of this e-mail is to make you aware of an incident thatoccurred off-campus near the University of Maryland, College Park campus. Thefollowing is a synopsis of an incident reported to the Maryland-NationalCapital Park Police, Prince George’s County Division.INCIDENT:               Off-Campus Attempted Sexual AssaultOCCURRED:             March11, 2019, at approximately 2:30 p.m. LOCATION:              Northeast Branch Trail between the Herbert W. Wells Ice Rink and the 5800block of University Research Court (Discovery District) PARK POLICE CASE #:  190000571BRIEF DETAILS:On March 11, 2109,at approximately 4:12 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department wasnotified of an off-campus attempted sexual assault. A female (no UMDaffiliation) was on the Northeast Branch Trail when a male grabbed her. Thevictim fought the male off and then ran after him. The male was last seen nearRiver Road and University Research Court. The suspect isdescribed as a Hispanic male, approximately 22 years of age and approximately5’7” in height. The suspect was wearing a blue sweatshirt, black pants, and agold hat.A video review of our cameras in the area is underway. If you see anythingsuspicious, please report it to police immediately.
