Nature. Art. Play. Cooperative. Learn about our school through Admissions and Coffee Chat parent events.
Hello!
Please see below for two opportunities to learn more about Takoma Park Cooperative Nursery School, where we are so thankful to be able to send our daughter, Mavis (4) - and if you have any questions, please reach out!
Saturday Morning Coffee, January 11th, 10-11:30 am
Literacy, Thematic Literature: Join us for a parent only morning of sharing ideas and discussion. We will cover how to present and revisit complex texts and picture books with children, young and old. We will also talk about how to unpack themes with children. Registration link below.
Admissions Information Session, Saturday, January 11th, 1-2:30 pm
We welcome parents to come and learn about our program. You will see our school environment and materials that are crafted to create a unique experience for children and parents. You will meet the parents and teachers who have dedicated themselves to creating the best possible setting for the children to discover and celebrate their community and their place in it. (Because of space limitations this is a parent only event.)
Registration for both events is required:

The Cooperative School is:
Arts-based: Children explore process and technique through exploration in visual art, music, and movement.
Play-based: The language of play and all it entails provides children the focus, problem-solving skills, creativity, and willingness to explore their world, forge relationships and create a foundation for life-long learning.
Nature-infused: Our outdoor space features natural elements—logs, pebbles, sand, rocks, branches—and thoughtfully selected repurposed materials ready the space for imaginary play. (We play outside every day—in all weather!)
Preview our curriculum, environment, philosophy of education, and our approach to the parent cooperative model, by visiting our website: http://takomacooperativeschool.com
The Cooperative School, a not-for-profit corporation, welcomes families of all races, colors, religions and national and ethnic origins without regard to sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status.
Happy New Year!
