I agree with moving to iogroups, if possible.
Or, might the (new-ish) Town website have a feature or option that is not currently "turned on", that could serve a similar purpose?

We need to keep Town Talk as a list serv. If we wish to add Social Media, it should be in addition to Town Talk, not in lieu of.

My 2 cents – I enjoy reading the TownTalk and always mention it to my new neighbors as a great resource for information about trash pickup, events etc. It keeps me apprised of events in the town before I receive the Town Crier (by which time it’s old news).

I could not agree more with this corespondent! I certainly don’t want to swim the murky waters of social media for news from The Park. TownTalk works. I have been suggesting it as the model for communication in other area communities. It is a great electric watering hole and we should remain plugged in!

How else am I going to know if King Farms’ mushrooms are going to be in town this Thursday?

Hello All!

As a 44 year old who spent all but 6 years of my life in Riverdale Park, and who now lives in Japan, I love reading Town Talk list serve emails.

I'm not embarrassed to admit that I don't use many social media platforms. I like and read the email list serve format in which Town Talk is distributed. Just my personal preference.

While I don't have much to submit to the list serve recipients, I very much enjoy reading everyones contribution to the content of Town Talk. I tell my mom all about the specials at the Farmers Market, and about other local events that are not always listed in the Town Crier.

I do hope the Towns leadership can find the path which allows for Town Talk list serve email to continue.

Thank you for your hard work, Alan! I appreciate you!

Have a safe and happy New Year, everyone!
