<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>i'd have to say i'm on board with the food
co-op. although i understand how appealing the shiny giants and safeways
are... there is a market in rp for a small town grocery store. i
think if it were modeled after the greenbelt co-op instead of ss/tp, we would
have more success. jr and i always do our shopping the at
greenbelt co-op and they have an AMAZING produce (and meats) department.
they have almost everything that giant has, similar prices and organic stuff
too... my experience with the ss/tp, umd, glut, etc is that it is a little
intimidating for people like myself. if our co-op was able to appeal
to more than just a vegan and or organic population, maybe it would be more
successful, right?? also, you can't forget that university park is right
around the corner. that is an interesting market in itself... they
would come too, they like earthy, grass roots stuff ;) just my 2
cents, but i would be there every week (probably volunteer some too), and still
by fresh flowers from the farmers market ;) i think eric and erika are
onto something (hi by the way, i live on the same street as you two!)
count me in! -drena (and jr) 4908 nicholson</FONT></DIV></BODY></HTML>
