Hyattsville Horticulture Society (HHS), the Community Forklift and Grizzly’s
Landscape Supply Service as we celebrate and prepare for the spring planting
season with the first annual Compost Sale. The compost – a 40 pound bag of
Chesapeake Green Lawn Enhancer or a 20 pound bag of Chesapeake Blue Compost with
Calcium – will be provided by Grizzly’s Landscape Supply Service. Each bag will
cost $3.00. Retail value from Grizzly’s is $4.25. <BR><BR>• </SPAN></FONT>When:

volunteer effort sponsored by a small group of people who love our gardens. We
are not a business. Orders and full payment must be received by 14 April. There
MAY be a LIMITED number of bags available for purchase the day of but please do
not count on this. This is a pre-order/pre-<WBR>pay event and orders and payment
must be received prior to pick up. Additionally, your order MUST be picked up on
21 April between 9:00 and 1:00. Please ensure that you or your delegate picks up
your soil Saturday morning. We cannot store soil at the Community Forklift; any
soil that is not picked by 1:00 will be stored by members of the HHS at our
homes. Arrangements for pick-up MAY be made – at the discretion and convenience
of HHS members. In the event that this occurs, your order for next year’s sale
will be received with great apprehension. <BR><BR>The soil:<BR><BR>Chesapeake
Blue is a premium compost specifically formulated when planting vegetables,
trees, shrubs, bulbs and flowers. Chesapeake Blue is composted from crab shells
and wood chips, is odorless as a result of the composting process, and will
improve soil structure retain moisture and resist weeds. <BR><BR>Chesapeake
Green is a compost specifically formulated for use on lawns and flower beds.
Blended from composted poultry litter, clam shells and wood chips, it will
provide thicker greener lawn. It’s odorless from the composting process and will
add lime to your soil. It should be used in soil where a neutral or sweeter pH
is recommended. </P>
