<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>so theres a guy (or 2) who has been going door to
door for a few days now, selling security systems. he has a white hat, and
a white shirt that says "honeywell" (no business card by the way) and approached
me about 5 minutes ago to tell me that there have been a few robberies in the
neighborhood lately and asked me a bunch of questions about my present home
security system (that is scary in itself)... we have ADT and he told
me that what they are doing now is cutting the phone lines and then breaking
into the house... i thanked him for his time, and told him we were happy
with our service. as i was walking away he reminded me that they cut
the phone lines so that ADT doesn't work anymore and then break
in and his system was free with a comparable monthly charge... its the newest
technology he says. he should have left it alone... i told him that
he shouldn't come into someone's neighborhood and try to scare them into buying
his product. he had some stats from the police department to spout off
when i said our neighborhood was safe... i should have thrown the town
crier in his face (i was holding it at the time.) he was rude and
yucky... same guy was in edmonston on monday and had a friend of mine all
signed up for his "free" service, gathering lots of private information, calling
it into "headquarters" and then after paperwork was done he said, "oh
and you know about the monthly service charge?" he told her "everyone
knows there is a monthly charge to have a security system in your house" and
they immediately called it off. anyways, hes yucky and i don't like people
trying to scare me into stuff... especially if they are knocking on my
door. if you see him, you now have a heads up. yuck. -drena
