increase
To: towntalk@riverdale-park.org
Message-ID:

charset=iso-8859-1

I'm surprised there hasn't been a lot of concern
about
the property tax increase. I guess all of you who
voted
for the mayor and current council are all happy
with the increase. I
however am very upset. You know
my husband and I for a long time didn't
put money into
our home. we wer trying to decide if were going
to
stay here or not. And as soon as we do the town wants
to add
buildings when we have vacant ones. They want
to increase traffic down
our already busy street. And
now to top it off a huge tax
increase. Well I wanted
to personally thank the mayor forreally
throwing
another financial ditch for us. As the mayor knows
my
husband has been sick for the last six months, has
lost his job, And
our health insurance is not an
option not to have accompanied by our life
insurance
and overwhelming hospital doctor visits and
medication
costs. We have three small children and I'm trying
to
support us all. Man for a town that doesn't wan t to
get rid of
blue collar workers you're sure doing a
good job. Nothing like kicking
your fellow neighbor
when their down. We already pay three thousand a
year
in proprty taxes. Do you not think that is enough?
And I'm
sure I'm not the only family in town that
feels this way. Neighbors
wake up and speak up. Tell
your neighbors who might not be aware of
the
situation. There is a meeting next monday at 7:30
Please
come. We have to take a stand. This is not
right. And by the way
we did the work to our home to
help with the rising utility costs. A
lot of good
that helped us now that taxes are going to be raise
27%
increase. Pepco etc... can be crooked why can't
the
town?
