<div><b><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> Installation of our railroad crossing's 4-arm safety gates is about to begin. </FONT></b></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> The date for installation was moved up to Fri June 8 thru Monday June 10th </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> (the crossing will be closed for that weekend). </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> The road bed will also be repaired!!! No more huge holes in the road. (But lets </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> not count our chickens before they hatch). By the way, the RR crossing upgrade </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> is funded with federal RR safety dollars.</FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> </FONT></div>
<div><b><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> The Trolley Hiker-Biker Trail made it onto the planning docket of Park </FONT></b></div>
<div><b><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> and Planning!</FONT></b></div>
<div> </div>
<b><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> </FONT></b><div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> So it looks like the next step - detail planning - will move forward this year.</FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> A big thanks to our County Councilmember Eric Olson for making this happen.</FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> Here are some Trolley Trail milestones achieved since last fall:</FONT></div>
<ul><li><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> Won town council approval of the concept.</FONT></li>
<li><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> Presented the idea at various MNCPPC and county planning meetings.</FONT></li>
<li><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> Raised public awareness in newsletter articles etc.</FONT></li>
<li><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> Discussed the project with Hyattsville, EYA, and the Cafritz property owners.</FONT></li>
<li><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> Raised public awareness higher with the Trolley Video Event at S&J.</FONT></li>
<li><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> Got the Title Search funded and started.</FONT></li>
<li><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> And now we have the planning stage all set to go.</FONT></li>
</ul>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> I sincerely hope that the new council will continue the momentum so the trail </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> will become a reality.</FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> The Arts District Hyattsville developer (EYA) is committed to funding and </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> building a portion of the trail in Hyattsville. And hopefully, the Cafritz property </FONT></div>
<div><FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE=3> development will fund and build a large portion of the trail in Riverdale Park. </FONT></div>
<div> </div>
