<P>The homeless may in fact exist at a higher level. They have no encumbrances, no bills, no responsibilities and live in an natural setting. No one is trying to steal their assets because they have nothing to steal. Here we are dragging around our bags of rocks (jobs, mortgages, cars, traffic jams, homes, insurance, taxes, etc.) at the expense of simply living. I can understand why some of them don't want to live in shelters. </P>
<P>We need to go on vacations because our bags of rocks get too heavy and we need to set them down for awhile. The homeless are always on vacation in a sense. Sure they have their worries, but we have many many more.</P>
<P>Food for thought.</P>

<DIV>This is a thoughtful and accurate read on an age-old problem that has few solutions. Not all of this country's homeless live on the streets of big cities but choose to live in the wilds. The do resist help for a slew of resons -- many of them stemming from unattended mental problems -- but have committed no crime and pose no immediate danger to themselves or others so they cannot be forced by law to accept help. However, they cannot serve as barriers to others who wish to exist on a higher level. </DIV>

I expect that the damage /graffiti on the old Arco building comes from this source.<BR>I don't think it should be the property owners responsiblity to assume ownership of these people. As a community I think we should help the homeless by pointing them in the right direction to access the many social services available to them.
