While this development does not occur in Riverdale Park, it will potentially effect our town and others nearby via new housing, new commercial and office space, new entertainment space, and changes to traffic patterns and usage. The University and their development partner, Foulger Pratt, have established an East Campus Steering Committee that includes citizen representatives from the surrounding communities and have established a series of meetings with the Steering Committee (and the public, please see an earlier note from Rep. Eric Olson) to discuss the planning of the development and get input and comments from the communities affected. One introductory meeting has taken place and the next is to occur on Sept. 4. </DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">All information regarding the development and process can be found at a website the University established: </DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><A href="http://www.eastcampus.umd.edu/"><FONT class="Apple-style-span" color="#0020DE">www.eastcampus.umd.edu</FONT></A>.<BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Also, at the first meeting we learned that <B>comments from community members in attendance must be funneled through the community reps</B>, so please be in touch with anyone below if you have concerns you'd like expressed. </DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Old Town College Park: Chris Aubry, Wendy Child, Jim McFadden</DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Calvert Hills, College Park: Morgan Gale, James Garvin, Mark Montroll, Leo Shapiro, Richard Wagner </DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">College Park Estates: Rob Day</DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Yarrow: Clay Gump</DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Other College Park: Monroe Dennis (Lakeland), Harry Pitt (Berwyn), Kiersten Johnson (North College Park)</DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">University Park: Bridget Warren, John Shoaff</DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Riverdale Park: Marc Stauffer, Anissa Sunday </DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">Other: Ric McPherson (North College Park Business Association, I think)</DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">The University is supposed to send information regarding the agenda of upcoming meetings out to the community reps. approx. 1 week before a Steering Committee meeting for review and discussion before the actual meeting.
