Roland, here we may differ.<br>
<br>
As I stated before, <font color="#ff0000"><b>Absence of results <font
color="#000000">(that you see)</font> does not mean absence of effort.</b>
</font><br>
Your "zany, out-of-left field suggestion" implies that Code enforcement
is not using the powers they have. Those of us at the Monday evening
working session heard the Chief say that they have been impounding
property. But, I'm repeating my self.<br>
<br>
It could be argued that the enforcement arm of town government could
allocate their resources differently.<br>
<br>
If I were counting I guess you and Jeffrey are on the side of
"eliminate the roses."<br>
I would think that Dwight ("car stolen out of our driveway") would
suggest a different priority.<br>
Bruce suggest public health may be higher on the list than the safety
of idiots running in traffic which is Jeffrey's concern.<br>
<br>
The list goes on, but that is just from this forum in the last 48
hours. In the past there has been lengthy threads about other
priorities for our Police/Code Enforcement including: condoms in the
park, chickens on the track, fences, building/additions without
license, a string of home burglaries (including mine), speeding/cutting
through our neighborhoods, door-to-door solicitation (was it alarm
systems?), homeless, .... I'm tired.<br>
<br>
This doesn't even included other small things like the DC car jacking
that ended up in town yesterday.<br>
<br>
It all takes time. Time is money, and in this case money means taxes.
Are you suggesting we put "roses" above other priorities? Or are you
suggesting we raise taxes for the express purpose of eliminating roses
from our town? Lets take a vote on that.<br>
<br>
In a zero sum game if one thing wins something loses. What do you
suggest?<br>

I have a kooky, zany, out-of-left field suggestion: If they have that
power, they should try actually using it.
