What a very timely and thoughtful suggestion, Dannielle. Taking this as inspiration, for future reference I've started a page on the Wiki where we can list local charities. I've gone ahead and added your Christian Life Center suggestion -- and will be happy to add any other local charities that anyone else has kind words for.

For now, this info is on this page on the Wiki: http://rpwiki.wetpaint.com/page/Think+Local
I'll add any charities recommended here on TownTalk, or hit me off list. *Or* you can add them yourself on the Wiki!

Friends,

I know you may also have received the same emails recently--toys for tot donations at record lows and food shelf pantries barely stocked. These are not false stories. The need this year is greater than ever before. We have many families in Riverdale Park that need assistance this year as well. If you can contribute a toy or some food, I know the gift would be appreciated. Here are two places that I know that will make sure your contribution gets to people in this immediate community. Please chime in, if you know of others.
