Why, and under what legal authority, do you think the town can regulate the speed of the trains?

It's also my understanding that the State of Maryland, not the town, can change the horn policy. A process was initiated by former Council Member Hiles many years ago to do this. I don't know the current status of that process, but I do believe that "the current establishment" is aware of the (limited) powers we have in this matter.
I would like to add to my rant, that, unbeknown to this current establishment, this town has the power to demand the trains lower their horns when traveling through our "at grade crossing" .

Just think what we, as a township, could demand when it comes to at grade speeds through our town and the ability to stop in time to avoid missing something as large as a bus on the tracks.

We contacted the police chief about stop sign runners on Lafayette Drive , but to no avail.

I intend to film the gross infarctions on that street and our own Ravenswood Rd to clearly point out the problem.

I thought the train running into a bus would prompt a change in this town but then I realized it is Riverdale Park, where no one really cares.

What does it take?
I was contemplating Gomer Pyle's 'citizen's arrest' strategy, but
thought better of it...
If I try to cross Queensbury & Rt 1
during breakfast or dinner time any
evening, people pull right up and do
not care about who has right of way
etc.& just block the way. Maybe
some tickets would be good. em
