I guess that's just for people who work in those buildings? Speaking of which, ARE town residents allowed to ride any the U of MD Shuttles now? I'd heard that was in the discussion phase some time ago, never heard any more about it. I've also asked some of "The Bus" (county bus) drivers if "The Bus" will ever run on weekends. That would be of some help but as of now, they just run on weekdays. The drivers have said it's been talked about but here again, nothing seems to be done. Hmmm, maybe a town shuttle/trolley? Maybe it would help to get people out of their cars and
into public transportation? And if it was worked like New Orleans, maybe even be a selling point for the town? Let's see, instead of streetcars named Desire, how about....."Calvert?" "Rosalie?" (well, maybe not) (smile)

Don't know that closing off the roads
to all but locals would be a great idea, but
really; with all of the new
apartments and condos springing up all over the area, it's pretty much a given
that traffic in our town WILL get much, much worse. Doesn't even have to be
auto traffic, does anyone in town besides myself ride the bus? Most of the time
on the F4, which goes from New Carrollton Metro to Silver Spring, via PG Metro,
you can't even get a seat and many times you can't even get on the bus; it's so
crowded it'll pass you by at the stop. Other local bus patrons in the area have
noticed this, too, the buses are much, much more crowded than they used to be.
Sorry, if I can't even get on the bus to get a seat (or stand), that's not
progress, either.
