this year, much of which was my own fault for not paying attention to
what was happening in my kitchen and pantry while I was consumed with
geriatric pet care for my 14-year-old German Shepherd Rescue Dog
Tamu. A mouse family took full advantage.</font></div>

<div><font face="Geneva" color="#000000">I believe the mice are all
gone now, having caught a bunch and relocated them more than a mile
away to where they could tweet #OCCUPYCAFRITZ. My geriatric cat
Linus caught about three himself (I named them all like hurricances.)
But every time the ceiling fan breeze rustles a curtain or I brush
against something, I'm thinking "MOUSE!" I have no
food stored anymore except in heavy duty containers, and if my cat
does not finish his food, it is picked up and put in the fridge.
I don't want a repeat invasion this fall and need professional help
securing my funky old house. I looked on Washington Checkbook
and Angie's List for exterminators, but it was hard to find a humane
consultant house-sealing type service.</font></div>

I work as a dispatcher for animal control and when people call to
complain about critters in their attics, walls, or crawlspaces we
always recommend they call Humane Wildlife Services. They
evaluate the situation to find entrance locations, humanely evict the
animal, and patch up the holes. Any handyman can patch up a hole,
but if there is an animal that is making a habit of coming in and out
of the attic, it is probably for a reason. The animal could be
nesting, which means you could have a whole family of critters living
with you soon, if not already! If you have the holes filled in
while the animal is still inside, it will either die and start
to smell or tear up your attic trying to escape and possibly
make a brand new hole in order to do so.<br>

Hello Riverdalians (is that what we're called?),<br>
<br>
I'm hoping you can help my wife and me with what we think is a
squirrel in our attic. It's in and out at various times and we're not
sure where it's getting in. My balance is not good enough to get up on
the roof to find out and the access panel to the side of the attic the
squirrel gets in is too small for me to fit through.<br>
<br>
We're hoping to hire a handyman to figure out where the squirrel is
getting in and patch the hole up.<br>
<br>
Would anyone have a recommendation for a handyman (or woman) that
they've used and were satisfied with?<br>
<br>
