I'd rather see more people give their business to Town Center Market and have something different on Jey's property. Our section of Rt. 1 is not very attractive, compared to the new Hyattsville Arts District and College Park. Every new building and business along there should be an asset, not another eyesore.

Michelle Burns

<div style="font-family: arial, helvetica,

I think this would be a great location for a convenience store. It would be within walking distance to thousands of new residence of Riverdale Park and Hyattsville City. We should encourage small neighbor business. Just look at Dumm's corner market. It's a great place. Why shouldn't we give Jey a chance. What is the real motive behind the Town of Riverdale Park and the City of Hyattsville going against Jey. I think there is a personal agenda by our Mayor and Council. Just look at the statement that our Mayor made March 3, 2013 on the Town Blog.

"The gateway to Riverdale Park needs to say YOU ARE SOMEWHERE! We the residents of this town deserve better and I for one will not again grant Jey another chance. We shall take this property, give the owner fair market compensation, and make this entry point to our town into a pocket park with noteworthy public art or find a developer who will give us a
signature building that will say loud and clear"

A convenience store on the corner of Route 1 and Madison Street would be a WIN - WIN for the community.

James Holmes
_______________________________________________
TownTalk mailing list
To post to the list, send mail to TownTalk@riverdale-park.org
TownTalk-request@riverdale-park.org is for automated subscription processing only
http://riverdale-park.org/mailman/listinfo/towntalk

For more information about Riverdale Park, visit http://www.riverdaleparkmd.info
