<DIV>I have lived here 50 plus years. Looking back I</DIV>
<DIV>think our town employees did a better job handling</DIV>
<DIV>trash plus if they got sloppy we could complain to</DIV>
<DIV>public works and would straighten up. Our town </DIV>
<DIV>always smiled/waved & had good attitude to me.</DIV>
<DIV>Bates people seem to be in a race or short time</DIV>
<DIV>schedule to do our town. I rarely seem them </DIV>
<DIV>pick up trash that falls. If they smile, it seems </DIV>
<DIV>forced but a couple will actually smile. So I think</DIV>
<DIV>they are under pressure for amt of time they have</DIV>
<DIV>to do the trash. I agree with Audrey about the </DIV>
<DIV>town and all the citizens keep the town clean - do</DIV>
<DIV>their part. Her little garden at the book store did</DIV>
<DIV>make a difference. We need to put time & money</DIV>
<DIV>into making the entrances to our town pretty with</DIV>
<DIV>gardens well kept up. town center is not kept up</DIV>
<DIV>flower wise but for a short period in summer. After</DIV>
<DIV>the Thurs market there is trash which Del picks up</DIV>
<DIV>and that should not be. Each dealers space should</DIV>
<DIV>be clean when they pull out. People who buy from</DIV>
<DIV>Dumms & McDonalds throw their trash all over. </DIV>
<DIV>Maybe engage Dumms & McDonalds Home Office</DIV>
<DIV>should come up with decorative trash cans saying</DIV>
<DIV>Thanks for Buying from us. Please put your trash</DIV>
<DIV>in this can. Dumms keeps their spot very pretty </DIV>
<DIV>but the artistic can may give the trash throwers a</DIV>
<DIV>message nicely. I do not think our town puts enough</DIV>
<DIV>into maintaining the beautification of our town. Maybe</DIV>
<DIV>our town should make clear thru Code Enforcement if</DIV>
<DIV>there is trash in front your property including street</DIV>
<DIV>area, we will charge your taxes with our cleanup. For</DIV>
<DIV>the town people who think it is not their responsibility</DIV>
<DIV>to pick up trash because they pay taxes - then maybe</DIV>
<DIV>the town should consider raising our taxes called</DIV>
<DIV>Beautification Tax on property. I think Greenbelt has</DIV>
<DIV>such a fee to keep their town clean. We have to get</DIV>
<DIV>the Beautification money from some place.</DIV></FONT></BODY></HTML>
