When people see the police are out, they tend to drive according to the law. However, as soon as the police leave, the problem would pop up again. On the subject of traffic scofflaws, I see more and more of a problem on Lafayette Avenue especially <VAR style="RIGHT: auto" id=yui-ie-cursor></VAR>at rush hour (from Queensbury Road to the Field of Dreams); people running the stop signs, often at speeds far too fast for a residential area. Don't know how much of this is due to people who actually live in town or those taking a shortcut, but when you exit from one of the side streets
onto Lafayette, you really have to watch out for what's around you.

Isn't the construction related to the new extra left turn lane from Rte 1 northbound to west East West Highway? Ideally that is supposed to alleviate this mess.

And thanks for letting people know the secret way past Dupont, Sarah. :P This morning there were about 10 cars waiting to make the left onto Rte 1, so I don't know how much longer it will be a viable option.

Jen, I'm sorry that folks were jerks this morning. It is really frustrating to have to break laws just to get from point A to point B.

-Maureen
