<DIV>Hi Bruce - 55 yrs ago when I purchased the house-</DIV>

<DIV>a long time prior- there was a 100 yr old tree that </DIV>

<DIV>died and the roots went deep down under the house.</DIV>

<DIV>When I found out about this tree, that is when I got </DIV>

<DIV>termite inspection but I did not have any.  but I kept</DIV>

<DIV>this termite company who guarantees that I will have </DIV>

<DIV>no termites or they will get rid of them for free for me </DIV>

<DIV>but not pay for any house damage.  they come every</DIV>

<DIV>year faithfully and no termites in 55 yrs.</DIV>

<DIV>Not very long after that I had flying ants but they</DIV>

<DIV>took are of them too.</DIV>

<DIV>it is true that we have clay, gravel also as if the stream</DIV>

<DIV>bed came up to my back door at one time  Also the</DIV>

<DIV>train shakes my house sometimes when I am sleeping.</DIV>

<DIV>And it is true that in the old days the water table would</DIV>

<DIV>rise under the house & come up through the wood </DIV>

<DIV>beams supporting the first floor hooked into the floor</DIV>

<DIV>basement cement.  I hope this is not serious now. And</DIV>

<DIV>of course my house really shook during the last earth</DIV>

<DIV>quake.  I heard the plaster rattling around between</DIV>

<DIV>the ceilings - old plaster vs new sheet rock ceilings.</DIV>

<DIV>The house is very sturdy and strong.  Well made by</DIV>

<DIV>hand. I think they made it w/o using a ruler.
