</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=EN-US link=blue vlink=purple><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal><b>Riverdale Park Station<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>CONSTRUCTION UPDATE NOTICE </b><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Weeks of: December 14, 2015 thru the week of December 28, 2015 </b><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>What to Expect On-Site the Next Three Weeks: </b><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>During the next three weeks of work, the General Contractor, L.F. Jennings, and their subcontractors will continue site construction around the Whole Foods Market and along Route 1. Underground utility work to install storm drains, water mains, conduits, site lighting and sanitary sewers is proceeding in multiple areas on the site. Washington Gas continues to bring gas lines to each new building. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Grading for the pervious pavement drainage system, under the Whole Foods parking lot, will continue. The installation of the asphalt base course for the widening of Route 1 is complete. Underground conduit installation for the new traffic signal at Van Buren St. and Route 1 is ongoing. Construction of the three new entrances from Route 1 into the development has been completed. Curb & gutter and base asphalt paving of the roads around the Whole Food Market is underway. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Construction of screen walls, seat walls, sign walls and other site hardscape structures in Gateway Park (buffer area adjacent to Route 1) and around the Whole Foods Market parking lot has begun. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The construction of a large permanent storm water management pond in the NE corner of the site will begin soon. Washington Gas Light (“WGL”) is relocating a gas line running along Rhode Island Ave. to the west of the railroad tracks that will impact traffic from Wells Run to the Pittcon facility. This project should be completed by 12/24/15. Once the WGL work is done, the installation of a new storm drain outfall pipe will begin from Wells Run to the the site. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>CSX Crossing: </b><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Work will soon begin on the much awaited new CSX crossing at Riverdale Park Station. The bridge construction work is significant and requires the closing of the former ERCO plant parking lot between the Rivertech Court cul-de-sac and Lafayette Avenue. This route has been used for years as a “short cut” from Lafayette Avenue to M-Square. <b>The closure will begin on or about December 14, 2015 and will continue until the new bridge is open – estimated to be in April 2017. </b><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The initial construction activities include the relocation of existing electrical and gas utilities that run parallel to the CSX tracks. Utility relocations are necessary for the construction of the new bridge over the CSX railroad tracks. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Temporary detour signage will be installed at the point of the construction directing bicyclists to an alternate route around the bridge construction. In addition, Gateway Park along the Route 1 frontage of the site will soon be open and provide bike/pedestrian access along Route 1. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Lane Closures: </b><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Utility connections for traffic signalization conduits are being performed that require periodic lane closures in Route 1.
