At Census, you will have a meaningful experience that will utilize <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>your background and will fine-tune your analytical skills.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Would I be paid for my internship?<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>All internships provide a stipend or salary (GS Schedule for Federal Interns and Recent Graduates) that helps you pay for housing, transportation,<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>and other expenses. Intern salaries generally meet expenses during the duration of the program. Census also offers unpaid internships.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>What is the internship duration?<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>Most summer internships last approximately 10 weeks, Fall and Spring Internship last approximately 15 weeks. Typically, internships start the first <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>week of June and end the first week of August. Postsecondary Internships are also available during spring and fall. Pathways also offers spring and fall internship opportunities<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>that may last more than 10 weeks.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>Are all internship opportunities in Washington DC?<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>No, we have internship opportunities at different Regional Offices across the nation and at our headquarters in Suitland, Maryland, a suburb located 2 miles south of Washington, DC.<b><o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>What about housing and travel arrangements?<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>Most programs, except Pathways, assist students in finding housing. However, students are responsible for<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>housing expenses. Round-trip airfare is arranged and provided at no charge to Postsecondary interns.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b>What about transportation?<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>The Census Bureau is accessible by public transportation, including bus and Metrorail. Most housing suggested by the internship programs is located in areas reasonably <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>near a metro station.
