I practically lived at the Big Bad Woof in Hyattsville for years -- picking up dog food, cat food, toys, cat furniture, weekly Soupergirl food deliveries, weekly CSA produce deliveries. I hosted a number of rescue dog meet-and-greet and adoption events there. A wonderfully community-minded business. Parking was always an issue though -- especially with those giant, heavy food bags that are difficult to carry far. Even with a couple of designated Woof-shopper parking spaces behind the store, non-Woof shoppers frequently parked there anyway. So I would have to head home or drive off to another store that featured ample parking. The DC Fishwife had considered opening a shop in that Hyattsville shopping area, but decided against it. I will really miss Penny and her staff, though will easily find them again in Takoma Park where I used to shop regularly before we were lucky enough to have them in Hyattsville. They even let me use their restroom!
