<p class="yiv2108354971MsoNormal">Sorry if there was any confusion.  HBCF does NOT have any town money (at least as of May 2016 or due to the competition).  There was a Business Grant Competition which had co-sponsors with the County and Douglas Development.  The only monetary
 benefit they received by winning was the chance for a reduced rent lease agreement with DDC directly.  The Town’s Business Grant Program would have come AFTER they had committed their own funds during build-out/opening.  The legislation has since been repealed
 by Mayor and Council last year but its core requirement was a minimum dollar-for-dollar match of any town-money to development money.</p>

<p class="yiv2108354971MsoNormal">The matching requirement was put in specifically so that the program would not be a charity but an offset to communicate to the business that the local government was a supportive partner to local businesses.  Moot point now however, given
 that the program no longer exists.</p>
