As stated in the Town Crier the amendment expands voting rights to include non-citizens and residents sixteen (16) years of age and older. There is a small group of people, of which I am one, that feel that this amendment should be voted on by ALL of the registered voters in the town. The only way this can occur is by petition to referendum. We have been out collecting signatures. However, with so many with busy schedules we have been unable to reach as many as needed. If you would like to sign the petition, I would be happy to come to you. My number is 301-873-1362. Bringing the amendment to referendum does NOT change the amendment. It give YOU the right to vote for or against. Signing the petition only brings the amendment to referendum.

Sincerely

Sheila H Smith
