Ravenswood Rd is dangerous as they drive too fast and get mad if you are entering or exiting your car. There are kids grade school & up riding bikes in & out of cars who are not great at holding their balance. These same cars tip the brake and speed on not coming to a full stop. A car almost hit a kid who ran out into the street because he expected the car to come to a full stop and it did not. The car slammed on their brakes.

While I haven't noticed any hit and runs over here but we have a similar traffic problem on Ravenswood Rd heading West. Cars use Ravenswood Rd as a short cut to bypass traffic on EW highway. During morning rush hour we have way too much traffic. Even though we have speed bumps it doesn't discourage the drivers. I would prefer something else in addition. Perhaps making the area one way unless you are a resident and can prove it. Similar to what they already do on Queensbury between route 1 and queens chapel.

The traffic from East-West Hwy cuts through this area during rush hour and is sometimes so heavy that it makes crossing the street difficult and unsafe. Perhaps a speed bump would be helpful on this block as well.

Lucy
Sent from my iPhone

> On Sep 22, 2018, at 12:20 PM, Anne Marie Willis <maryland.amwillis@gmail.com> wrote:
>
> This morning I saw a totaled car in front of my house. This is probably the four totaled car if not more further down Taylor Road closer to the Mansion, Our car was side swiped 9 years ago. All parked on the street. People have even put out cones behind there cars to help drivers. Cars and truck use Taylor as a cut through or avoided police on Keniworth, also speeding! The town should really think about speed humps on Taylor Road to make our town safer!
> _______________________________________________
> TownTalk mailing list
> To post to the list, send mail to TownTalk@riverdale-park.org
> TownTalk-request@riverdale-park.org is for automated subscription processing only
> http://riverdale-park.org/mailman/listinfo/towntalk
>
> For more information about Riverdale Park, visit http://www.riverdaleparkmd.info
_______________________________________________
TownTalk mailing list
To post to the list, send mail to TownTalk@riverdale-park.org
TownTalk-request@riverdale-park.org is for automated subscription processing only
http://riverdale-park.org/mailman/listinfo/towntalk

For more information about Riverdale Park, visit http://www.riverdaleparkmd.info
